The Audi R8 is a well known high performance car. Currently the flagship model at the marque, the car has impressed analysts, wowed enthusiasts and won new fans ever since it’s release. Featuring a mid-mounted engine and elegant body styling, the car has been discussed repeatedly in supercar blogs and auto magazines. The eye-catching good looks of the R8 have been improved in the new car. It’s nose has a the low, aggressive stance. The massive grille takes up the entire central section of the car’s front fascia. A pair of air intake vents have been added under each of the front headlights. Not only do they provide the engine with extra air supply, they contribute to the sporty, aggressive styling of the car. The hood lies a hair’s length above the headlights and the grille. Built with a clamshell structure, it enhances aerodynamics and gives the car a sleek, coupe design. The large windshield provides the driver with a wide field of view. Moreover, the A-pillars are slimmed down to expand the field of view even further. They also create an acute angle in each of the side windows.

The B-pillars are integrated into the car’s rear shoulder. They sit above a pair of air-intake fins that are situated vertically along both rear sections of the car. Colored in solid black, they punctuate the car’s side view in an elegant way.

The rear end has LED taillights and a flowing sweep which further emphasizes the coupe design. The 2019 Audi R8 GT has two pairs of double tail pipes situated in some cutlets within the rear bumper. These features complement the large 20 inch sporty wheels perfectly.

Interior redesign

Just as the outer section of the car reflects elegant performance, the interior is just as stylish. Upon entering the 2019 Audi R8 GT, you are greeted by a multi-functional steering wheel. Angled such that it is horizontal along the lower section, this wheel provides you with grip thanks to its sculpted form. An array of buttons are situated on both sides of the 2 upper spokes.

The new car has ditched traditional analog dials for a new, 12.3 inch LCD screen presenting the odometer, mileage tracker and gear selection. It also provides entertainment, navigation and visual representation of the car’s performance statistics.

The car’s instrument stack is characterized by air conditioning vents and dials. To ensure luxury, the entire dashboard is upholstered in leather with contrast stitching as an option. You can also pick Alcantara suede upholstery. With one row of 2 seats and some storage space between them, it is an ideal performance supercar cabin!

Engine and Specs

The new 2019 Audi R8 GT is kitted out with a spectacular mid-mounted V-10 engine married to a 7 speed, dual-clutch transmission system. This engine is available as standard and it churns out 540 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, the car sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.

You can also get this new Audi R8 with a V-10 Plus engine. The enhanced power-plant produces a whopping 610 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. With this engine under the hood, the car goes from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds. Power from these engines is controlled using magnetic dampers and carbon ceramic brakes.

The engine compartment is made of aluminum and carbon fibre. Moreover, the car utilizes an all wheel drive system and achieves a top speed of 205 mph. This new car has a mileage of 14 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.

Release date and Price

The new 2019 Audi R8 GT is due for release in early 2019. It will be available as a regular coupe with a price tag of $166,150. It will also be available as an open-top Spyder with a price tag of $178,250. The most powerful Plus trim will have a price tag of $195,650.
