2019 Cadillac Escalade Release date
The Escalade is one of the best selling luxury crossovers on the US market and for a really good reason. It is actually quite cheap for all the gear it has to offer and it is one of the most comfortable cars on the market. However, the car is really inefficient and it can’t really compete with its European rivals when it comes to driving characteristics. Luckily all of this is going to change with the upcoming 2019 Cadillac Escalade. Even though the details are still scarce, it looks like this will be a completely redesigned model. As before, the car will continue to share its chassis with the Yukon, so it will remain a body on frame SUV. However, in order to be able to meet the latest safety and emissions standards, there will be quite a few changes in store.
2019 Cadillac Escalade Rumors
For starters, the car will feature a new high strength steel chassis which will have increased structural rigidity while being slightly lighter. On top of that, it looks like GM may use an aluminum body this time around. Acura NSX Type R – read about…

This would drop the weight of the Escalade considerably and it would allow the car to become the sporty SUV they always wanted it to be.
Like its predecessor, the car should feature a new air-ride running gear, at least on the higher end models. Even the most basic model should get a set of adaptive dampers which will allow the driver to tweak the ride to its own liking.

We also hope for bigger brakes which were sort of an issue with its predecessor. With the new platform there will be a few new engines, but more on that a bit later.
Release and Price
GM is most likely going to release the upcoming 2019 Cadillac Escalade in the early 2019. The car should then go on sale in the following months, so it will arrive in time to counter a couple of new arrivals.
Its price is still unknown. Even so, we doubt much is going to change. The base model should still cost around $80,000 with the range-topping versions now going well past $100,000.

Engine and Specs
So far the car has been available with a 6.2 liter naturally aspirated V8. Good for 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. While this has plenty of power, it is not exactly the most efficient engine out there. We do hope things will change with the new 2019 Cadillac Escalade.
If the rumors are anything to go by then the car will receive two different engines. The base model should feature a new 3.6 liter twin-turbocharged V6 while the higher end version might get a V8. The new “base” model of the Escalade should still deliver in excess of 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque.

---|---|
Price | $74,000 |
Engine | Gas V8 |
Drivetrain | RWD |
Transmission | 8-speed automatic |
Displacement | 6.2L |
Power | 420 HP |
Fuel Economy | 15/22 mpg City/Hwy |
It will do this by being more efficient, so there are no real drawbacks to it. The higher end model on the other hand might come equipped with a new 4.2 liter twin-turbo V8. With as much as 500 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque.

Both of them should drive either the rear or all four wheels via a new 10 speed automatic. Even though not official, we can likely expect fuel efficiency improvements of at least 10% which will allow the new Escalade to get back up there with the best.

Redesign
The current model of the car doesn’t really have much in common with Cadillac’s other vehicles. However, this is likely going to change with the future model.
For starters, we can expect a new set of headlights, more similar to those found on the XT5.
The car should also boast a new grille as well as a different set of design lines which will allow it to stand out even more.

Unlike its predecessor, the really boxy look of its rear end might be gone. In its place we could see a more coupe-like roof but unfortunately noting has been really confirmed up until now. The car’s interior is also going to improve massively.
For starters, the 2019 Cadillac Escalade is finally going to ditch the truck-like dashboard for something more similar to Cadillac’s newest sedans. We can also expect new seats and slightly more room thanks to a less intrusive chassis.
