2019 Ford Kuga Rumors

Ford released the second generation of the Kuga back in 2012, so the car is not that old. Unfortunately, it shares quite a few parts with the first generation which they released nearly a decade ago. This is likely the reason why the current model doesn’t really feel up to date which is a real shame. Luckily though, it finally looks like the manufacturer is ready for a change. Not that long ago some inside sources suggested there will be a huge update with the 2019 Ford Kuga. The car is set to be a major refresh which will not have much in common with its predecessor.

Ever since its release in 2012, the Ford Kuga has attracted an army of enthusiasts. This is due to its compact design, low fuel consumption and versatile nature. The model was recently updated and released as the 2019 Ford Kuga. This new version contains better technology and high levels of comfort. To keep it in stride with modern standards, it has been refreshed and received some new updates. Here is more about them.

Exterior updates

The new car has received a boosted exterior appearance. To keep up with customer preferences, the headlights and taillights have been incorporated with LED technology. Daytime running capability has been enabled as well. The Ford logo on the grille has also been replaced with bold 3 Dimensional 3D lettering. This gives the little crossover SUV heaps of attitude. The new car can now be enhanced with a unique Appearance Pack. It equips the car with silver roof rails as well as privacy glass in the rear. For even more aesthetic appeal, the 2019 Ford Kuga is available with some extra trims. They include the Titanium, ST Line, X version and the ultra luxury Vignale trim. Drivers have the freedom to pick the most appealing one.

Engine updates

Discerning drivers can now rest easy thanks to the variety of engines that is available in the new Ford Kuga. Its stock 1.5 liter petrol engine has been tuned such that it has a smaller displacement level. This is so as to reduce fuel consumption without sacrificing performance. Furthermore, it has been fitted with a set of turbochargers. These marvels of automotive engineering push power output all the way to 120 hp.

The 2019 Ford Kuga is available with a 4×4 power delivery setup. Along with the new drivetrain is an EcoBoost petrol engine that is able to produce enough power to handle off-road terrain easier. The compact crossover SUV is also available with a Hybrid engine under the hood. It is made up of the regular turbocharged engine combined with an 88 kW electric motor. Together, the combination churns out 285 horsepower. 2.10.2018 – Updates

2019 Ford Kuga Review

For starters, the new model is likely going to use Ford’s modular CD4 architecture, which also underpins the Fusion. This would give them quite a bit more room to work with without having to compromise anything.  We saw a new Nissan Altima

Even though the details are still hidden, the new Kuga will definitely grow. The car should boast a slightly longer wheelbase than before and it should feature a wider track width.

The end result will be a more stable car that will also be more comfortable. Another big change with the new car should be its NVH levels.

These will improve considerably mostly thanks to the new platform. Not many people remember the first generation of the car was great to drive. This is mostly because the current model is average at best.

Well, it finally looks like this is going to change as the 2019 Ford Kuga is expected to be far better than its predecessor. Thanks to the car’s new platform, it should be sharper to drive, more engaging and quite a bit more fun.

Release, Price

Considering what happened with its predecessors, it is safe to assume Ford will release the new car some time in the mid of 2018.

The car should then go on sale shortly after that. Its price is going to be mostly identical to that of its predecessor.

The base model will still cost less than most of its rivals but the new range-topping versions are now expected to cost in excess of $45,000.

Both generations of the Kuga are very similar to each other. Well, things will change with the 2019 Ford Kuga. If the rumors are correct then the new car will feature quite a few more design cues from Ford’s US models.

We can expect the car to boast a new grille, different headlights and a more muscular design. On top of that, with the new platform the proportions are also going to change slightly.

The roof-line should be slightly more arched while in the back the new Kuga should feature a new design that would get it closer to a hatchback rather than an SUV.

The odd-looking cabin will be gone as well which is actually great for the car. In its place the 2019 Ford Kuga will feature a cabin more similar to that of the new Fiesta.

We know this sounds strange but it looks like Ford will do the same with the new Focus.

There will be far fewer buttons than before, the layout will change dramatically while the car’s interior materials will be far better as well. All in all, the interior will become a better place to be which should allow Ford to challenge the top contenders in its respective class.

Engine, Specs

The most basic model of the 2019 Kuga should still feature a 1.5 liter turbocharged petrol engine. However, this time around this will be a new 3 cylinder unit which is expected to develop anything between 150 and 200 horsepower and over 180 lb-ft of torque.

A larger 2.0 liter unit will be available as well. This should boast 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque which is an improvement over its predecessor as well.

Both of these will get a 6 speed manual or a 9 speed gearbox and either front or all wheel drive. With the new model Ford is also likely going to release a new trim level.

The Kuga RS would boast a 2.3 liter turbo-four engine with 285 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the others, this one would feature all wheel drive and it would only be available with an automatic gearbox which would definitely make things interesting.
