2019 Honda HR-V Vezel, Redesign

2019 Honda HR-V Vezel, Redesign

Honda released the second generation of the HR-V back in 2014. However, the car has been actually around since 2013 under the Vezel name. This means that it isn’t exactly the most up to date model on the market. Even so, the HR-V manages to impress with its low acquisition price and great value for money. In order to remain at the top of its class, the car is set to receive an update in the near future. Honda did not say all that much about this future vehicle. Even so, it looks like it may hit the market with the upcoming 2019 Honda HR-V. Just like with its predecessor, the new car is going to have quite a bit in common with the Fit.

2019 Honda HR-V Review, Rumors

New HR-V will bring Honda’s newest technologies in its segment.

However, this time around things are going to be a bit more impressive. For starters, it looks like the HR-V will benefit from a better running gear, new engines and a different design. See the new Maserati Levante 2018 !!!

2019 Honda HR-V Ratings

At first, many thought the car was going to be just another mid-life facelift but it soon became clear this is not the case. Instead, the new HR-V will bring Honda’s newest technologies in its segment.

This should give Honda a fighting chance against some of their much newer rivals which have quite a few strong points over the HR-V. As the car will still share its platform with the Fit, it means it will get the same wheelbase and track width as the hatch.

However, this time around, the crossover will get a fully independent suspension system which wasn’t the case in the past. This alone should be well worth the upgrade over its predecessor. Read about HR-V on Wikipedia

Release, Price

As before, the car is likely going to hit the market in the first part of the year. Most seem to suggest the early 2019 which would make quite a bit of sense. The price of the 2019 Honda HR-V shouldn’t be all that different from its predecessor.

The base model will likely still hover around $20,000 which remains in the upper limit of its class. The higher end versions of the car on the other hand will stop at roughly $28,000, thus becoming one of the most expensive subcompact crossovers out there.

Redesign

In the front we can expect quite a few influences from the larger CR-V such as the grille or the headlights.

So far the HR-V managed to charm people with its clean look and relatively aggressive design. Sadly there aren’t that many available details about the upcoming 2019 Honda HR-V but it seems like the car is not going to be all that different from its predecessor. Buy a new Honda HR-V….

In the front we can expect quite a few influences from the larger CR-V such as the grille or the headlights. The hatchback-like design with the arched roof-line and the bulky rear end are likely going to stay. However, its window-line will change while the rear windows may get larger too.

The interior.

Here things are going to be kept quite simple too. In order to keep the costs down, the interior of the 2019 Honda HR-V is not going to be the best out there.

However, it won’t be the worst either. The car will still benefit from a clean design scheme and it will feature quite a few features for the price.

Over the older model, the infotainment system is likely going to use a larger screen while the dashboard may finally receive a digital instrument cluster.

In terms of available space, things will be quite similar to its predecessor, especially since it’s expected to retain roughly the same wheelbase as before.

Engine, Specs

The car is likely going to offer right around 141 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque.

The US version of the 2019 HR-V is likely going to retain the same 1.8 liter naturally aspirated mill as before. Even though the specifics of this engine are still unknown, we don’t expect it to change all that much. The car is likely going to offer right around 141 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque.

There will also be a higher end version. It looks like this may come equipped with a 1.5 liter turbo-four with closer to 190 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque.

Both engines should be available with a 6 speed manual. An automatic is also a real possibility but we do hope Honda won’t use their aging CVT. Instead, their 10 speed gearbox would be a far better choice, especially since they could also offer the optional AWD system with it.
