2019 Honda Odyssey Release date

2019 Honda Odyssey Release date

Honda released the current Odyssey a few months ago and so far the minivan managed to become one of the better sellers of its class. Sadly though, like most things out there, the Odyssey is not nearly as perfect as it should. Even so, it manages to provide a really complete experience which many people seem to love. However, it looks like the manufacturer is going to release a small update with the future 2019 Honda Odyssey. This is set to include a few changes on the outside as well as possibly some upgrades under the hood. The basic car on the other hand is going to remain the same as before which is especially true for the Odyssey which hasn’t been around for that long. Just like with its predecessor, the car shares its architecture with the Pilot. However, unlike the SUV, the minivan is aimed at on-road use.

2019 Honda Odyssey Review, Rumors

For 2019, Honda may alter the way the higher end models drive.

This means it features a different running gear with a more capable set of shocks and springs which is definitely interesting to see. The end result is a minivan that doesn’t really drive like a minivan but more like a car. New Kia Niro Hybrid is here…

For 2019, Honda may alter the way the higher end models drive. These are perfectly fine when it comes to comfort but none of them is that great when it comes to driving characteristics.

Some also suggested that Honda may reveal a sportier version of the minivan.

This would get a sportier running gear and possibly bigger brakes. While at this point this is nothing but a rumor, it would definitely make the 2019 Honda Odyssey one of the more interesting cars out there. Read about Odyssey on Wikipedia…

Release, Price

The base model will still hover around $31,000 with the range-topping versions going for far more than that.

Considering when the current car hit the market, it is safe to assume the upcoming Odyssey will follow a similar route. We can expect it to hit the market by the start of the third quarter but Honda should actually reveal it by the end of the 2nd quarter.

Its price is still unknown but we doubt it will change much. The base model will still hover around $31,000 with the range-topping versions going for far more than that. Buy a new Odyssey!!!

Interior

Like with most other minivans on the market, the most important feature of the 2019 Honda Odyssey will remain its cabin.

There is no doubt about the fact the current model is great but there are some things that could be improved. For starters, the pop-up screens for the rear passengers are of a lower resolution than most, so we would love to see an upgrade here.

On top of that, some of the materials used on the dashboard could be better. Some said the 2019 Honda Odyssey will come with a few major upgrades here but we doubt that.

Instead, likely the biggest upgrade with the car will be the addition of a slightly better infotainment system.

Redesign

For starters, the wheels on the new car should be updated to something a bit more modern-looking.

The exterior of the new Odyssey will remain quite similar to that of its predecessor. The car will benefit from the same front end design and from the same rear end. However, it looks like some changes will happen. For starters, the wheels on the new car should be updated to something a bit more modern-looking.

On top of that, some of the available colors will be changed in order to bring it closer to Honda’s other vehicles. The rumored sportier version would get a different body kit but this has yet to be confirmed just yet.

Engine, Specs

For 2019 it looks like Honda may offer the current 10 speed automatic as standard.

There is currently just a single 3.5 liter naturally aspirated V6 available with the minivan. This benefits from Honda’s latest fuel efficiency tricks, so despite being quite large, it isn’t the least efficient engine out there.

This will easily do up to 19 MPG on the city and over 28 MPG on the highway which is better than most of its rivals. For 2019 it looks like Honda may offer the current 10 speed automatic as standard.

On top of that, the car could get a second engine option. Some said this could be a hybrid but we find this quite unlikely. It would make more sense for Honda to release a higher performance version of the Odyssey.

With up to 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, this should have more than enough grunt to trump its rivals.
