Mazda 6 in front of all

World premiere and most recently the European premiere of Mazda’s flagship, has attracted a lot of attention. In its sedan version, the Mazda 6 fascinated the entire 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
What was showcased was a more elegant and mature exterior look combined with brand new seats and equipment. We expect these features will give this vehicle a great advantage over the competition but bear in mind that competition in this segment has produced a rather weak offer.

2019 Mazda 6 Review, Rumors

Sadly it looks like an entirely new model is still some time away

Unlike the current one, this one should receive quite a few upgrades under the skin in order to allow the sedan to get noticed with more ease. Sadly it looks like an entirely new model is still some time away. 2019 Jeep Cherokee – read about…

Even so, Mazda shouldn’t really have a problem competing, especially since the 6 remains one of the better vehicles in its class.

As we have said, the car will continue to use the same SkyActiv architecture as before. This is a high strength steel platform which combines quite a few unique solutions in order to come up with one of the most rigid architectures on the market.

As before, the new 6 will continue to use a fully independent suspension setup. Some said the 2019 update may come with new brakes but Mazda has yet to confirm this.

Release, Price

The 2019 Mazda 6 is likely going to hit the showroom’s floor some time in the end of 2018. The manufacturer is likely going to put the model on sale months after, most likely in the early 2019.

This should give them plenty of time to finish the development of the new engine.

Engine, Specs

Some suggested the 2019 Mazda 6 will come with a manual on all engine choices.

The current 6 is available with two different engines. There is the base model which has a 2.5 liter naturally aspirated inline-four mill. This will put out a rather mild 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque.

The option comes in the form of a 2.5 liter turbocharged unit, the same as that found in the Mazda CX-9. This engine is known to make 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque which is quite a bit more impressive than the regular naturally aspirated unit.

Both of these are currently available with a 6 speed automatic but only the lesser engine can be had with a manual. Some suggested the 2019 Mazda 6 will come with a manual on all engine choices. This will give the customers more choices while also making the car that much better to drive.

As an added bonus, it looks like a third engine option could be in store. Chances are the car will receive the HCCI engine that Mazda has been developing for the past few years.

This combines the running mode of a diesel while using petrol as fuel. Thanks to using compression, the engine is known to be considerably more efficient than a regular petrol engine. In order to achieve that efficiency, it will also use a small supercharger.

Even though it will be just 2.0 liters in displacement, the engine will make close to 190 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque, so it may replace the base engine eventually. Unlike the rest, this one could get a different automatic gearbox in order to make better use of its design.

Exterior and Interior Redesign

The new HCCI model may receive a few interesting quirks.

Considering Mazda already updated the looks of the 6, chances are things are not going to change all that much with the new model. The car is expected to offer the same front end as before and the same overall styling.

However, the new HCCI model may receive a few interesting quirks. For starters, the car could get a slightly different grille insert and new badges.

Some also said that it may come equipped with unique wheels but this has yet to be confirmed. The interior of the new 6 on the other hand will remain the same as before.

We are perfectly fine with this as the car is actually one of the most impressive sedans on the market. Why? Well, it manages to provide not only a great-looking cabin but also great materials which is not that easy to come by.
