2019 Nissan Altima Spy Shots
Even though the current Altima has only been around since 2012, it looks like Nissan is already looking to replace it. The car that will take its place is going to be an entirely new vehicle which is not going to have much in common with its predecessor. So far the manufacturer didn’t really say much about it but photographers already managed to shoot the development prototype for the 2019 Nissan Altima. The interesting thing about it is the fact the car looked pretty much ready to go even though it was heavily camouflaged. This likely means that Nissan will release the new model in the near future and it should hit the market by the mid of 2018.
2019 Nissan Altima Review, Rumors
Even though there is still very little official information about the upcoming Altima, a few things are quite obvious. For starters, the car is going to use an entirely new platform. Instead of being based on Nissan’s older D platform, it should boas an evolution of it. Ford Escape Spied…

This would feature lighter weight materials which would give the car increased structural rigidity and better crash protection as well. Despite what some said, the car will continue to use a front wheel drive platform.
We know this is not ideal for high performance applications but it should still be perfectly fine on the 2019 Nissan Altima which is nothing more than a family car.

Despite that, the running gear is definitely going to change. It looks like the new model will become better to drive and slightly more comfortable. Some also suggested that some versions of the car will feature adaptive shocks which would be quite interesting to see.

Release and Price
Considering the past, it is safe to assume Nissan will release the new Altima in the summer of 2018. The car should then go on sale a few months later.
The price is still unknown but we highly doubt much is going to change with it. The base model should still start around $23,000 with the range-topping versions going past $30,000.
For the price the Altima should still boast one of the best value for money in its class.

Redesign
From the spy shots we have seen so far it looks like the 2019 Nissan Altima will be based mostly on Nissan’s VMotion2 concept.
This means that in the front the car will receive a brand new grille, honeycomb mesh, a different bumper with a more aggressive skirt as well as new swept-back headlights.
The hood also seems to feature a small bulge while the wider fenders definitely give the car a more menacing stance. The rear is quite similar as well with a new bumper, different tail lights and a more raked rear window.

The big difference here has to be the dual-exhaust system which is likely standard on the range-topping model. From the profile, with the exception of its new roof-line, the new Altima looks quite similar to its predecessor.

Interior
The ongoing model is quite basic when it comes to its cabin. We hope this is going to change with the upcoming 2019 Nissan Altima.
Even though the manufacturer still didn’t release much in terms of information, it looks like they may borrow a few things from the Maxima.
We can expect a new center stack, both wider and lower than before. there should be far less buttons too while the infotainment screen should grow in size over its predecessor.

The materials are also going to get better while the steering wheel should change to something more similar to that in the new Micra.
Engine, Specs
The base engine of the new 2019 Nissan Altima should not be the old 182 horsepower 2.5 liter mill. In its place we may see a Renault 1.6 liter turbo-four with up to 200 horsepower and over 200 lb-ft of torque.
Further up the range the car may ditch its old V6 in the favor of a new 1.8 liter turbo-four. This should be able to deliver around 260 horsepower and over 280 lb-ft of torque.

Both versions of the car should get a standard 7 speed dual-clutch automatic and both of them should come with front wheel drive as standard. A hybrid is also a real possibility but Nissan didn’t really say much so far.
