2020 Volkswagen Passat Review

The Volkswagen Passat is one of the most popular consumer sedans today. German built, it has won the hearts and minds of the masses with its technology, functionality, and performance. These elements have been turned up a notch in its latest iteration, the 2020 Volkswagen Passat. Discover more about it here.

Exterior design

From what we know about the 2020 Volkswagen Passat, the new sedan has an executive, aerodynamic appearance. The car maintains a sleek profile from its front fascia to its rear. Its front fascia has a number of straight lines and angular features as well. The front bumper actually has a lateral air intake vent which stretches from its left to right end. There are also some angular fins demarcating the fog light cusps on each end. These elements are plated with chrome.

The grille is characteristically VW. It is made up of straight chrome slats aligned parallel to each other in a neat stack. Vertical slats cut across and create rows of boxes. The neat array further completes the professional appearance of the sedan. The grille section is sandwiched between a pair of LED headlights. They have angular shapes and slant inwards toward the grille. They also have a wraparound shape along the front corners of the car.

The new Passat’s hood is lightly sculpted. It has some lateral lines along its middle and on both sides. A clean style is maintained throughout the exterior of the car. The fenders are clean with no indicator bulbs or vents. Moreover, there are LED indicator slits on the rearview mirrors. The car has 5 doors and is a full-size sedan.

The rear section is just as minimalist and professional as the front. It has LED taillights sandwiching the trunk lid. The rear bumper is sculpted and has a pair of reflectors upon it. The car has a cutlet for the tailpipe. Riding on 18-inch wheels, it has a low, capable profile.

Interior design – 2020 Volkswagen Passat

The new Volkswagen Passat has a neat, executive interior profile. The steering wheel has 4 spokes. It is a multifunctional unit due to some buttons upon it. Drivers can control the indicators, music system, pick phone calls and control the Air Conditioning (AC) system using these buttons. Behind the steering wheel is a pair of analog instrument dials. They sandwich a 3 inch LCD panel which displays the car’s performance details digitally. In the Premium trims of this car, we predict that the analog dials will be replaced with a digital LCD panel.

High on the center stack is a 6.3-inch touch screen panel. It is nestled in the middle of some knobs. They facilitate extra control over the car’s systems. The car’s gear shifter sits right in front of the center stack for easy access. There are accents of polished wood throughout the interior of the car. Moreover, the renderings of this car reveal that it is upholstered entirely in leather.

The car seats 5 passengers on 2 rows. Moreover, drivers can pick various colors for the interior. Examples of these are black, grey, tan, ivory and brown. A notable feature of the car’s interior is that it has a limo-style back seat. Thus, there is ample leg room for passengers in this section of the vehicle. We predict that Premium versions of this sedan may have electronically adjustable back seats.
